GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Lake District National Park Walking Guide - Discovery Guides. Featuring the North and Central Lake District which is a unique region in England. Some call it a mini Switzerland with its deep glacial valleys, rugged hills and mountains and the large number of natural glacial lakes that radiate outwards from the Lake District dome.
For generations it has been a major tourist attraction and the domain of the fell walker.
This guide is aimed at the highly experienced and properly prepared and equipped fell walker as the routes are challenging.
This Classic Walks of Discovery Series guidebook features some 15 classic walks in the North and Central Lake District and approximately varying from 7 to some 11 miles in length. These walks are more demanding and strenuous and are for the experienced walker to consider.
The routes travel through some of the most dramatic and breath-taking Lake District scenery and provide incredible journeys of discovery for those who have experienced them.
A look at the Contents page will identify the classic peaks, routes and locations that await your exploration.
The cartography and route cross-sections are excellent and along with very detailed and sectionalised route descriptions combine to provide an outstanding walking guide.
Excellent value for money.
