GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Cowal Peninsula in Argyll photo guide and guidebook - Discovery Guides. This is one of Scotland’s most beautiful and appealing regions, yet remarkably it still remains largely undiscovered.
Bounded by Loch Fyne to the west, Loch Long and the Firth of Clyde to the east and the Kyles of Bute to the south, it possesses a wealth of dramatic and magnificent scenery.
The landforms of the region are truly exceptional and this has recently been recognised by the inclusion of the Argyll Forest Park, which covers much of northern Cowal, within Scotland’s first national park featuring Loch Lomond and the Trossachs.
There is also a variety of breath-taking scenery to be savoured, including the rugged, towering mountains, bright blue lochs, dark green carpet of forest, bright green glens, purple heather and the bright red blanket of rhododendrons that add a seasonal striking vibrance to nature’s canvas.
There is so much to discover for those with a desire for exploration. Amongst my personal favourites are the awe-inspiring views over the Kyles of Bute, the outstanding natural beauty of Loch Goil, the peaceful reflections of Loch Fyne... but in reality this list could go on and on.
Therefore, we have endeavoured to produce a photographic portrayal of the Cowal Peninsula that encaptures the very essence of this unique and remarkable area so that it’s visual treasures can be seen and enjoyed by you all.
Excellent value for money!
