GENERAL DESCRIPTION

This companion guide to our existing ‘Heartbeat Country’ publication provides a most pictorial experience and journey through the historic and magnificently beautiful region made more famous by the ‘Heartbeat’ TV series produced by Granada.  The Heartbeat Story is told through a photographic journey of over 260 colour photographs, virtually all never before published.

Several of the exceptional sections include numerous shots of the Heartbeat cast and crew on location across Heartbeat Country.

‘Heartbeat’ is based on the ‘Constable’ series of police stories by the ex-PC Peter Walker under the pen-name of Nicholas Rhea. Within this guide we have included some details of Peter’s life and the origins of the places and characters in his books.

Featured are the coastal and countryside areas that cover the settlements that are mentioned in both the ‘Constable’ and ‘Heartbeat’ series, plus some extra film locations.

We were fortunate to come across the filming of recent scenes and were incredibly impressed by the professionalism of both cast and crew in ‘Heartbeat’, now the most successful drama series of all time!
